Dunedin, Otago.

What an amazing place to survive and thrive.

There is something for everyone - nature, native animals, sports, historical buildings, and fun!

The Otago Museum is highly recommended, where you can go and look at live butterflies in the Discovery World Tropical Forest, view a real Egyptian Mummy, and even take a trip up to the Animal Attic! Other particular favourites of mine include St Kilda Beach, which is beautiful to walk along in summer, a walk up Baldwin St, the Steepest Street in the World, and especially the Royal Albatross Center out at Harrington Point - these maginifcent birds are beautiful to watch.

Dunedin has a population of just over one hundred and twenty seven thousand (as of 2016), and is the second largest city in the South Island. It is famous for its historical buildings, such as the Railway Station, First Church, and Larnach's Castle, as well as being the dropping off point for gold rush workers in the 19th century. The University of Otago was the first university in New Zealand, and tertiary-age students make up just under 21% of the population.
